WHO WE SUPPORT
For the people who are used to being the ones others rely on.
You don't need a certain job title, diagnosis or kind of story to belong here. Oak House supports people from all walks of life - with particular understanding of what it means to spend much of your life caring for, protecting or showing up for others.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF PRESSURE
Some roles ask you to carry more than most people see.
Some people spend their days responding to emergencies, caring for others, making difficult decisions or staying steady when things around them aren't.
Others are the person holding things together at home - supporting a partner through demanding work, raising a family or quietly carrying the weight of everyone else's needs.
Over time, that responsibility can shape the way you cope, connect and move through the world. Therapy can be a place where you don't have to be the capable one for a while.

FIRST RESPONDERS
When staying calm is part of the job.
You may be used to stepping into situations most people would rather step away from. Staying focused, making decisions quickly and keeping your reactions contained can become second nature.
But the things you see and experience don't always stay at work. They can show up as irritability, disrupted sleep, feeling constantly on guard, pulling away from people you care about, or simply feeling different than you used to.
Therapy can give you somewhere to make sense of those experiences without having to explain the culture of the work first.
MILITARY & VETERANS
Some experience don't stay behind when the role changes.
Military life can ask you to adapt quickly, function under pressure and keep moving regardless of what's happening around you.
For some, the difficult part comes from experiences during service. For others, it's what happens afterward - adjusting to a different pace, navigating relationships, finding a sense of purpose or figuring out who you are when the role that shaped so much of your life changes.
Therapy can be a place to process what happened, understand what you're carrying now and build a life that makes room for who you are beyond the uniform.

HEALTHCARE & HELPING PROFESSIONALS
Caring for people can take something out of you, too.
When your work is centred around other people's needs, it can become easy to put your own somewhere further down the list.
You might be carrying the emotional weight of the people you support, navigating impossible expectations, feeling responsible for outcomes you can't always control, or simply finding that you have very little left by the time you get home.
Therapy can be a place to step out of the helping role, understand what the work is asking of you and reconnect with the parts of yourself that exist outside of what you do for everyone else.
PARTNERS & FAMILIES
When someone you love carries a lot, you can end up carrying it too.
Being close to someone in a demanding role can shape your life in ways other people don't always understand.
You may be managing more at home, navigating shift work or long absences, worrying about someone you love, or trying to stay connected when stress and difficult experiences have changed the way they show up.
And sometimes, you become so focused on supporting everyone around you that your own needs are easy to lose sight of.
Therapy can be a place that is yours - to talk about the impact on you, strengthen your relationships and make room for what you need too.

YOU"RE WELCOME HERE
You don't have to see yourself in one of these labels to belong here.
Maybe none of these roles describe you. Maybe what brought you here is anxiety, trauma, a difficult relationship, a major life change, or simply the sense that something isn't working the way it used to.
Oak House is a place for people navigating the complicated parts of being human. Our experience with people who carry a lot shapes the way we work 0 it doesn't define who is welcome.
WHAT THERAPY CAN LOOK LIKE
Whatever brought you here, we can start with what's happening now.
You might want to process something that happened, feel less overwhelmed, understand patterns in your relationships, reconnect with yourself, or find a way forward that feels more sustainable.
You don't need to know what kind of therapy you need. We can figure that out together.
